Aditya Roy Kapoor is an Indian film actor who works in Hindi films. He was born in Mumbai on 16 November 1985.His father was a Panjabi named Salome Roy Kapur and mother was a Jewish named salome. Aditya Roy Kapoor started his career as a VJ on music channel Channel V, where his comic timing and "unique style of hosting" made him a hit. He then made his film debut in 2009 playing a minor role in Vipul Shah’s musical drama ‘London Dreams’. His next seen was in the science fiction romantic comedy ‘Action Replay ‘(2010). . His next appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s bittersweet drama ‘Guzaarish’ (2010).All those film are not commercially successful. Aditya Roy Kapur's career reached a turning point in 2013, when he played the male lead in Mohit Suri's romantic drama 'Aashiqui2' opposite Shraddha Kapoor. It was released as the sequel to Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Aashiqui’ (1990). The film earned mixed to positive reviews from critics, and Kapoor earned rave reviews for his performance as a declining singer battling with alcoholism. In 2013, he played a supporting role in the coming-of-age romantic comedy’ Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, which ranks among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all-time. Aditya Roy Kapoor has completed work on Habib Faisal's romantic drama ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ (2014), in which he is paired opposite Parineeti Chopra. The film will release in September 2014. He has also started filming for ‘Fitoor’, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.Now he is set to reunite with his ‘Aashiqui 2’ co-star Shraddha Kapoor for Tigmanshu Dhulia's romantic drama ‘Milan Talkies’.Aditya Roy Kapoor won "BIG Star Entertainment Award for Best actor” in a Romantic role for ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013.he also won IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor for "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" in 2014.
